Your new place in the High Sierra awaits...USFS Log Cabin located in the lovely hamlet of Strawberry, you'll fall in love with the Hobbit-like surroundings: cool and fragrant forest, lush ferns and mushrooms, and the sound of the river in the distance. A relaxing weekend here will seem like a week away from the real world. This classic Forest Service log cabin sits tucked among the pines of the Eldorado National Forest, minutes off Highway 50 yet worlds removed from the rush. Step onto the porch and the Sierra takes over filtered light through the canopy, damp earth after a storm, ferns crowding the edges of the lot, and that low, steady hush of water that never quite leaves you. One visit will convince you that this is your place in the High Sierra. The cabin has received many cosmetic upgrades while keeping the soul of a true mountain lodge: warm wood, the kind of rooms that smell like pine and firewood, and the easy, lived-in comfort that makes people linger. Come for a Saturday and you'll start planning Thanksgiving. Come in summer and you'll hear the river and forget what day it is. Come in winter and the forest closes in, quiet and close, and the cabin feels like a secret. This is a USFS cabin privately owned improvements on Forest Service land. Purchased with cash. No loan. A rare, straightforward High Sierra foothold for anyone who already knows they belong up here. Pack the coffee. Bring the dog. Leave the clock behind. Strawberry is waiting.
